Dark Lip Neutralisation

Dark Lip Neutralisation

Lip Blush is a lip colouring procedure that uses pigments to create an enhanced lip colour and definition of the lips.

Dark Lip Neutralisation is an advanced lip blushing/tattooing technique that uses specialised pigments to lighten & neutralise dark pigmentation on the lips for a overall brighter and even tone with results healing to a natural looking lip colour.

This treatment uses a modified but similar technique as general lip blush with extra steps and sessions in order to effectively neutralise areas of darkness before finalising with a natural or more dramatic blush if desired.

Who is this treatment for: Pigmented Lips, Dark Lips, Uneven Lip Pigmentation

How long will it last?

As described by its name, SPMU is a ‘semi-permanent’ procedure and results can last anywhere from 1-10 years. Longevity of results as well as the success of the procedure overall, depends on various factors such as your own skin type, age, skin condition and your own habits and lifestyle – but most people find that results after treatment last on average 1-2 years before needing a top up/colour boost.

Are Powder & Ombre Brows the same as Microblading?

Yes & No….

Many people get SPMU confused with just Microblading alone. Microblading is a ‘type’ of SPMU procedure and uses a manual hand tool to implant the pigment through slicing the skin with a blade. However, most people are not suitable candidates for Microblading as those with oilier, aged or darker skins tend to get poor results over time with no longevity of pigment or hairstrokes – which is why overall SPMU is the best & least invasive option for most clients.

The effect of microblading can still be 100% created with SPMU and the hairstrokes as well as overall pigment will last on average 3x longer in the skin and be less traumatic to the skin overall both during the procedure and long term.

Is there any downtime?

You will still be able to go about your normal day to day activities after the procedure however, you will experience scabbing for 1-2 weeks following the treatment and will have to follow the necessary aftercare advice and products until the area is completely healed which is on average 6-8 weeks.

Can I only do the first appointment?

No.

The full procedure is done over TWO SESSIONS, 6-8 weeks apart and on average 30-50% of the pigment will fade once healed from the first session. This is why the touch up appointment is a MANDATORY part of the procedure, as you will not get your desired results without coming in for your second appointment. There is no fee for the touch up session as this treatment is included in the full treatment cost.
